Adidas<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0University of Tennessee<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0have announced a historic agreement that will see Adidas replace\u00a0Nike<\/a>\u00a0as the university\u2019s official athletic outfitter beginning\u00a0July 1, 2026<\/strong>, when the Vols\u2019 current Nike contract expires. After a decade with Nike, Tennessee is returning to Adidas in a 10-year deal that covers everything from\u00a0footwear<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0uniforms to fan apparel and sideline gear, marking one of the most significant college sports apparel contracts to date.<\/p>\n

Tennessee previously partnered with Adidas from\u00a01995\u20132014<\/strong>, before switching to Nike. The new agreement signals a full-circle moment, with Adidas and Tennessee once again working together to elevate the program\u2019s profile on and off the field.<\/p>\n

Leadership Perspective: Building for the Future<\/h3>\n

Adidas recognized our potential and responded with one of the best apparel deals in the history of college sports, prioritizing Vol Nation and the Tennessee brand.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Perhaps the most emotional endorsement<\/a> came from Tennessee legend\u00a0Candace Parker<\/a>, two-time national champion with the Lady Vols and current\u00a0Adidas President of Women\u2019s Basketball<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n

NIL Opportunities: A New Era for Student Athletes<\/h3>\n

Beyond gear and team apparel, the partnership sets a new benchmark for\u00a0NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness)<\/a>\u00a0opportunities. Adidas and Tennessee will offer NIL benefits to all student-athletes across the university\u2019s\u00a020 varsity programs, from\u00a0football\u00a0and\u00a0basketball\u00a0to\u00a0soccer\u00a0and\u00a0track & field.<\/p>\n

As part of the rollout, Adidas plans to land NIL deals with Tennessee athletes in the\u00a02025\/26 school year<\/a>\u00a0before the official partnership begins, followed by entry into the\u00a0Adidas NIL Ambassador Network, which provides student athletes across all\u00a0Division I schools a chance to monetize their own brand and image.<\/p>\n
