Baffin is the presenting sponsor of Chasing Antarctica, a documentary following Canadian endurance athlete Connor Emeny’s completion of an Iron-distance triathlon on each of the seven continents. The film is scheduled to premiere at the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival on November 17. Baffin’s announcement describes the Antarctic race as the final chapter of the challenge.
The partnership grows from an existing relationship: Baffin named Emeny a brand ambassador and official footwear and apparel partner before his Antarctic expedition. In 2024, he joined the company’s Real-World Testing team in Iceland, where he tested footwear in volcanic highlands and glacial rivers. Baffin says his feedback contributes to the development of its next generation of performance footwear.
The documentary follows the physical and logistical demands of a self-supported expedition in Antarctica, extending the story beyond a finish-line result to the conditions surrounding it. That setting brings Baffin’s extreme-environment positioning into view through an athlete’s project and a film release, while keeping the product-development relationship distinct from the achievement itself.
Baffin executives Jessica Liut and Mark Hubner are executive producers alongside the brand’s presenting-sponsor role. The film gives the Canadian footwear company a place in an endurance story whose scale spans swimming, cycling and running across seven continents.
