Clarks is expanding the activewear side of its digital marketplace with the addition of British athleisure brand Gym King.

Gym King is now available through Clarks Marketplace, bringing its menswear, womenswear and kids collections to the platform. The brand combines athletic functionality with a streetwear-led aesthetic, giving Clarks an apparel offering that sits alongside its expanding selection of casual and performance-minded footwear.

For Clarks, the addition points to a broader effort to position its footwear within a complete lifestyle assortment. The company said Gym King’s clothing complements its growing athleisure footwear range, with products designed to transition between workouts, everyday wear and street style.

The move comes as Clarks continues to develop Marketplace beyond its core footwear business. Gym King is among four recently added brands alongside Orla Kiely, Monster Shop and Propel by GRG, extending the platform across fashion, fitness, beauty, wellbeing and home categories.

Clarks announced plans for its first owned UK digital marketplace in 2025, with the platform designed to introduce complementary third-party brands alongside its own products. The strategy gives the footwear company an opportunity to broaden its assortment without limiting the Clarks shopping experience exclusively to shoes.

The Gym King addition is particularly relevant as Clarks develops its presence in more active footwear categories. The company has been highlighting styles including Clarks Pace, ATL Active and Cloudsteppers as options for walking, training and everyday movement.

By pairing Gym King apparel with its own footwear assortment, Clarks is creating a more complete athleisure proposition while using Marketplace to introduce customers to categories beyond the footwear business it has traditionally been known for.
