Herbert Levine’s FW26 collection reinforces the return of a historic American footwear name with a sharper, more contemporary point of view.
Now available through HerbertLevine.com and select retailers worldwide, the range continues the label’s work of bringing midcentury glamour into a modern luxury market shaped by personality, craftsmanship and strong silhouettes.
A legacy returns
Herbert Levine originally built its reputation on polished footwear worn by Hollywood stars, cultural figures and former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.
The brand became known for sculptural heels, refined pumps and evening shoes that brought couture sensibility to American footwear.
The name returned in 2025 under the creative direction of Trevor Houston, the former head of footwear at The Row. Houston’s role has been central to the revival.
He understands the value of the archive, but he avoids treating it as a costume reference.
That distinction is important. The new Herbert Levine does not rely on vintage shapes alone.
It takes the brand’s precision, femininity and sense of drama, then reworks them for customers who want luxury shoes to feel personal rather than overly formal.
FW26 sharpens the vision
The Fall Winter 2026 collection expands that direction with silhouettes that sit between polished daywear and occasion dressing. Pumps, boots, loafers, mules and ballet inspired styles give the range a broad wardrobe function while maintaining a coherent visual identity.
Key styles include the Pump Du Jour, a pointed toe pump with a controlled heel; the Soft Touch loafer, which brings a softer leather treatment to a classic shape; and the Silhouette boot, a tall, closely fitted design that emphasizes the line of the leg.
Pieces such as the Sitting Pretty mule and Gather Around pump add more expressive details through gathered leather, satin and sculptural form.
The collection is sophisticated, but it is not overly restrained. Houston uses bows, curved vamps, rich textures and unexpected materials to create footwear with character.
The details never feel decorative for their own sake. They shape the overall attitude of each shoe.
Modern glamour, not nostalgia
The strongest aspect of Herbert Levine’s new era is its understanding of glamour as something wearable. The FW26 range does not rely only on high heels or obvious evening shoes.
Flats, low heeled pumps, loafers and boots all carry the same sense of refinement.
That gives the brand more relevance in a market where luxury customers expect versatility.
A pair of shoes should work with tailored trousers, denim, dresses and outerwear, not only a formal event. Herbert Levine’s designs answer that demand through materials and silhouette rather than loud branding.
The 24/7 ballerina is a good example. Its small heel and ribbon detail create a delicate look, but the shape remains practical enough for daily styling.
Elsewhere, the Rain Check PVC ballet pump references the house’s famous stocking shoe, updating an archival idea for a fashion audience that has returned to sheer footwear and unconventional material combinations.
American footwear gets space
Herbert Levine’s return also arrives at a useful moment for the footwear market. Italian and French houses still dominate luxury shoe conversations, but American footwear brands have a different history to draw from: a mix of Hollywood glamour, modern design and direct practicality.
The label does not need to compete by imitating European luxury codes. Its strength is in its own archive, which brings a cinematic, distinctly American form of elegance to the current market. The designs can be glamorous, playful and a little eccentric, yet they remain focused on line, fit and material.
That approach gives Herbert Levine a clear position among contemporary luxury brands. It offers customers a shoe with visual impact, but without the excessive branding that dominates much of the market.
Why it matters
Herbert Levine Continues to Champion American Luxury Footwear because the FW26 collection proves that a heritage revival can move forward without losing its identity.
Trevor Houston uses the house’s past as a foundation, then builds modern shoes that feel relevant to how luxury customers dress today.
For collectors, fashion buyers and footwear fans, the collection offers a reminder that American shoe design has its own language.
Herbert Levine’s renewed focus on craftsmanship, sculptural silhouettes and wearable glamour gives that language a timely new platform.
