LA28 is opening a route for small Los Angeles County businesses to put its emblem on locally made merchandise through Made for Two Eight, a licensing program announced October 20. Applications open October 30 through RAMP and close in February 2027, with selected licensees due to be announced in July 2027.
Homeboy Industries has become an official licensee for apparel and accessories. The program’s category-specific agreements will let selected businesses sell approved goods through channels including their own platforms. License terms are expected to begin around one year before the Olympic Games and continue through the Paralympic Games in August 2028.
Applicants must meet U.S. Small Business Administration size standards and create products at a Los Angeles County facility. LA28 will prioritize locally sourced materials and City of Los Angeles producers; the first month of application review is reserved for businesses manufacturing or creating products within the city.
The commercial opportunity extends beyond event souvenirs. Local production gives Games merchandise a connection to the city’s makers, while licensing offers those businesses a way to translate that identity into approved products. Homeboy’s apparel and accessories agreement illustrates how community organizations can participate in the retail economy surrounding a global sporting event.
