lululemon has appointed Ben Hallam as chief brand officer and Emily Sunderland as chief strategy officer, extending the leadership reorganisation it announced in October. Hallam starts November 9, while Sunderland takes up her role November 23.
The November 6 company announcement says Hallam will join the senior leadership team and report to CEO Heidi O’Neill. He most recently served as senior vice president of marketing at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. His remit includes brand marketing, creative, store experience and community, alongside sports marketing, partnerships and social impact.
Sunderland joins from Boston Consulting Group, where she was managing director and partner. Reporting to CFO Meghan Frank, she will work on growth opportunities and long-term strategic planning.
The pairing puts two connected questions into distinct leadership roles: how the brand presents itself across products, stores and communities, and where the business develops next. For an activewear and footwear company, those decisions connect the physical product with the experience surrounding it.
