ŌURA says it has reached six million paid members worldwide, adding one million since the end of June. The smart-ring company announced the milestone in an October 22 post.
The company update places membership growth alongside this year’s Oura Ring 5 launch and the expansion of its software and partnership offering.
A membership milestone beyond device sales
Paid membership measures a different part of the business from the number of rings sold. The six-million figure describes the company’s reported member base, rather than shipments of the latest device or an independent assessment of its health features.
For a wearable brand, the continuing service relationship is part of the product proposition: the ring sits alongside an app that interprets data across areas such as sleep, activity and recovery. Oura’s update highlights that combination of hardware, software and services.
The milestone provides a concrete indication of the scale of that paying audience. For the sports and wellness market, the business significance is the continuing customer relationship behind a device designed to fit into everyday routines.
