Diego Poncelet reached 151.83 km/h on a downhill skateboard along Québec’s Route des Éboulements, setting a standing-position speed record recognized by Guinness World Records. The run took place on a closed section of road in Charlevoix, with the project documented by Prada Linea Rossa and Red Bull.

For the attempt, Prada Linea Rossa and Red Bull developed bespoke footwear and gloves for Poncelet. Prada says the shoes use sticky rubber and a herringbone traction pattern to support board contact and control at speed.

The record project was built through years of preparation with engineers and performance specialists. The footwear was treated as part of the rider’s control system, alongside his board, protective equipment and technical preparation.

The collaboration places footwear engineering at the center of a high-speed sports project. Its focus is functional contact with the board, giving the fashion-sport partnership a performance brief beyond logo placement or race-day apparel.
