Monterrain, the British outdoor performance apparel brand, entered the footwear market on April 9, 2026, launching its first ever trainer lineup with two silhouettes: the Tempo at £90 and the Interval at £100. Both styles are available exclusively at monterrain.co.uk.
A New Category
Monterrain built its following around performance outerwear and activewear designed to move between mountain trails and urban streets. The footwear launch follows that same brief, with both silhouettes developed around how people move across multiple environments rather than optimizing for a single use.
Jasmine Sherwood, Head of Brand at Monterrain, said, “We’ve always made clothing for people who don’t separate their active and everyday life — and now we’ve made shoes for them too.”
Tempo and Interval
The Tempo is the lifestyle entry: a lightweight everyday trainer with a layered mesh upper, clean technical finish, and a silhouette that reads from morning commute to evening wear. It is built for effortless movement and versatility, sitting at £90.
The Interval is the performance led option at £100, featuring a heel pull tab, trail style outsole with grip, and a construction built for all terrain use beyond the pavement. Both styles use layered mesh uppers, trail inspired design details, and a clean technical aesthetic consistent with Monterrain’s apparel identity.
Distribution and Reach
The launch is online only, and UK focused at monterrain.co.uk, with Foot Asylum confirmed as a UK retail partner. The initial run is described as limited, with no confirmed restock or international rollout at the time of publication. The footwear launch places Monterrain alongside a growing cohort of outdoor adjacent apparel brands, including Cayl, ROA, and Satisfy, that have expanded into technical footwear to offer their audience a fuller head to toe proposition.
