Undercover and Tokyo based women’s footwear label BEAUTIFUL SHOES released their Spring/Summer 2026 collaboration shoes on April 14. They are now available at undercoverism.com and at Undercover stores worldwide. The shoes were first presented as part of Undercover’s SS26 women’s collection. This was shown at Paris Fashion Week in October 2025.
The “But Beautiful” Universe
Designer Jun Takahashi built the SS26 women’s collection around the idea of imperfection as a creative language. The collection features asymmetry, distorted patterns, exposed linings, mismatched buttons, and raw hand-stitching running through every piece. It drew direct inspiration from the stuffed animal works of French artist Anne-Valérie Dupond, whose collaboration with Undercover dates back to 2004. Additionally, this collection introduced a new character, an angel with three arms and two differently shaped heads, across embroidered accessories. A standout piece from the presentation was a black dress with a wavy hem. It had padded embellishments by Dupond, and a stuffed spinal cord and sacrum affixed to the back.
The Collaboration
BEAUTIFUL SHOES was founded in 2010 by Toshinosuke Takegahara, who also helms the menswear labels Authentic Shoe & Co. and Foot the Coacher. The brand builds its identity around minimalist women’s dress shoes made with precision Japanese craftsmanship, a sensibility that aligns with Undercover designer Jun Takahashi’s own approach to deliberate, detail driven construction. Specific silhouette names, materials, and pricing for the collaboration were not confirmed in official sources at the time of publication.
