VEJA is taking its footwear vocabulary into mountain-inspired territory with the Atlas, a new model named after the North African range. Introduced in the brand’s November 3 LinkedIn post, the shoe combines a lugged sole and metal eyelets with leather and suede uppers.

The silhouette borrows the visual language of vintage outdoor footwear: substantial tooling, a rounded toe and hardware that gives the lacing system a more rugged presence. VEJA says an insulating wool mounting sole sits within the construction. Those details distinguish Atlas from the cleaner court-shoe shapes associated with the brand.

The French Atlas collection lists suede and hairy-suede versions at €220, with oiled-leather and oiled-grained-leather options at €240. These are prices for the French market. The oiled leather is designed to develop a patina with wear, while the hairy suede is sourced from farms in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

For the Agate Black oiled-leather version, VEJA lists an Organic Traced leather upper and lining, recycled-polyester laces and a Brazilian-made construction. The shoe comes with green and brown laces, allowing a change in contrast without altering its earthy palette.

Atlas gives VEJA another way to address everyday dressing through outdoor references. Its clearest statement is in the proportions and material finish: a heavier sole and climbing-style hardware paired with leather intended to change over time.
