adidas athletes filled all six places on the men’s and women’s podiums at the 2026 BMW Berlin Marathon. The brand reported the sweep in its race announcement, highlighting victories by Tigst Assefa and Guye Adola in the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3.

The result gave adidas a concentrated showcase at one of road running’s most closely watched races.

Assefa lowers her Berlin course record

Assefa won the women’s race in 2:11:04 on September 27, improving the 2:11:53 course record she set in 2023, according to the organizer’s race report. The performance secured her third Berlin victory, following wins in 2022 and 2023.

Bedatu Hirpa finished second in 2:16:53, with Dera Dida two seconds behind in 2:16:55. Their finishes completed the women’s podium sweep described by adidas.

Adola returns to the top step

Adola won the men’s race in 2:02:50, five years after his previous Berlin victory in 2021. The organizer reported more than 56,000 registered runners from 162 nations for the event.

The results put adidas athletes across both podiums, with wins by Assefa and Adola and course records in the women’s race.
