adidas Brings Back Harden Vol. 1 Pioneer With Hyperboost Cushioning
The first Harden signature shoe returned with Hyperboost cushioning, an October 15 global release and a $140 announced US price.

The adidas Harden Vol. 1 “Pioneer” returned globally on October 15, 2026, following an August 26 launch in China. The release revisits James Harden’s first signature adidas basketball shoe a decade after its debut, pairing its original look with an updated cushioning system.
What changed
adidas describes the reissue as a Restomod: the recognizable silhouette remains, while Hyperboost cushioning replaces the earlier midsole setup. The company says the update is designed to reduce weight and improve energy return. Those are brand performance claims, rather than results of an independent wear test.
The shoe retains its asymmetrical lacing, leather toe cap, textile sockliner and outsole pattern based on pressure mapping. The black, red and white Pioneer colorway also carries Harden branding and the Three Stripes.
