Broadwick Studio turned adidas’ Hyperboost Edge debut into a full-sensory story. The Adidas Hyperboost Edge LA Launch Experience fully immersed attendees, showing how energy return, lightness, and cushioning can feel like one unified experience instead of three separate tech points.

Design and details

Hyperboost Edge marks adidas’ first lightweight, non-plated “super trainer” built around a simple goal: combine maximum cushioning, high energy return, and real lightness in one daily running shoe. The Hyperboost Pro foam midsole drives that experience. It delivers a 45 mm rearfoot stack and a 6 mm drop. The ride feels soft on impact but quick and responsive at toe-off. Importantly, the shoe achieves this without a carbon plate or stiffener; unsurprisingly, these design details were highlighted throughout the Adidas Hyperboost Edge LA Launch Experience.

A PRIMEWEAVE upper keeps the fit secure while staying breathable. Meanwhile, the LIGHTTRAXION outsole adds grip and reduces weight. The full build comes in at around 255 g. As a result, the shoe works for everything from easy runs to longer training sessions. Broadwick Studio’s challenge was to translate those three benefits into something physical before anyone tried the shoe. Instead of a standard product briefing, the team built an experience-first environment. They designed spaces, sound, and lighting that kept returning to one idea: energy, lightness, and cushioning working together. Notably, these concepts were central to the Adidas Hyperboost Edge LA Launch Experience.

Launch format and access

The global reveal started in Los Angeles with a two-day experience for around 200 media guests and running creators. The city itself became part of the storytelling. Guests moved through runs, activations, and guided sessions without knowing the full reveal, echoing the immersive Adidas Hyperboost Edge LA Launch Experience format.

At the key moment, they entered a dark tunnel that stripped away all visual distraction. That space led into a 360-degree immersive room filled with light, sound, and projected visuals. The Hyperboost Edge sat at the center while Patrick Nava, GM of adidas Running, introduced the shoe.

After the reveal, adidas rolled the product out globally. The first drop arrived on March 17 in the “Pure Ruby” colorway at select retailers and adidas.com. Additional colorways followed from May 1, supported by digital campaigns built around the “Power of Three” concept, further strengthening the messaging of the Adidas Hyperboost Edge LA Launch Experience.

Performance and on-foot focus

The performance story matches the experience. Lab testing shows strong cushioning across both heel and forefoot. Energy return measures above 73 percent, placing it among the stronger super trainers in its category. Despite the high stack, the shoe stays lightweight. This makes it suitable for everyday runners who want one pair for easy runs, steady mileage, and long training days. For runners, these performance details became tangible during the Adidas Hyperboost Edge LA Launch Experience.

Unlike plated racers, Hyperboost Edge avoids rigid plates or aggressive geometry. The foam works more naturally through the stride. As a result, the ride feels smooth and intuitive rather than mechanical, while still delivering bounce and protection. It is clear from the launch event that the Adidas Hyperboost Edge LA Launch Experience highlighted these performance benefits.

Brand and experience impact

Broadwick and adidas shifted the focus from product specs to experience-led storytelling. Instead of explaining the shoe, they let guests feel its core ideas through space, light, and movement. This approach positions Hyperboost Edge as more than a single model. It introduces Hyperboost as a broader cushioning platform for future adidas performance footwear, as demonstrated through the innovative Adidas Hyperboost Edge LA Launch Experience.

For runners and industry watchers, the launch signals a clear direction: modern performance shoes are no longer defined only by materials and numbers.
