New Balance Foundation and Beyond Sport have selected three South African nonprofits for funding and organizational support through their Futures in Motion program.

The October 27 announcement commits approximately ZAR 4.11 million, or US$250,000 combined, over three years to Hoops 4 Hope, Sentinel Ocean Alliance and training4changeS. South Africa is the fourth and final location in the program’s initial rollout, following Australia, Japan and Poland.

Funding extends beyond participation

The recipients work across basketball, ocean-based activities and football or futsal. The grants support community delivery, coach development and inclusive programs, alongside education and pathways into employment. Each organization also selected a youth leader to attend November’s One Young World Summit in Cape Town.

The announcement gives the foundation’s international sports-access initiative a defined South African delivery network and a multiyear funding period. The amount is shared across the three organizations; it is not a separate US$250,000 award for each recipient. The release does not specify the individual allocations.
