Nike signed a multi year agreement with the Premier Lacrosse League and Women’s Lacrosse League on April 13, 2026, becoming the official uniform and sideline apparel partner of both leagues beginning with the 2026 season. The deal, described by the leagues as the biggest jersey and apparel agreement in PLL history, runs through 2028. Moreover, it replaces Champion, which had held the sideline apparel partnership since 2021.
Nike’s lacrosse push
The partnership extends Nike’s deepening commitment to the sport. The brand already serves as the global footwear and apparel partner for World Lacrosse, the international governing body, through 2028. In addition, it holds the official cleat partner designation for the PLL. Todd Jacobs, GM of Nike Field Sports, said the partnership “reflects the momentum we’re seeing in one of the most dynamic sports in North America.”
What Nike will produce
Starting with the 2026 season, Nike will design and produce on-field uniforms for every PLL and WLL team, along with sideline apparel and select fan merchandise collections. Athletes will also gain access to Nike footwear and lacrosse equipment. The PLL’s 2026 regular season opens on May 8. Meanwhile, the WLL Championship Series continues from May 15. The new uniforms will debut across both properties this summer.
A sport on the rise
Lacrosse is among the fastest growing youth participation sports in North America, giving Nike a platform to build category depth ahead of potential Olympic exposure. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the direct negotiation between the leagues and Nike, with no intermediary, marks a shift in how the PLL approaches commercial partnerships. For Nike, the deal is a test of whether brand investment in a growth stage pro league can accelerate both fan merchandise sales and broader brand affinity among a younger athletic audience.
