Nike and the Virgil Abloh Foundation Bring “The Codes” to New York
The Shed exhibition opens December 10, with nearly 1,000 objects spanning Abloh’s creative practice and Nike partnership.

Nike and the Virgil Abloh Foundation are bringing “Virgil Abloh: The Codes” to The Shed in New York, with an exhibition running from December 10, 2026, through January 18, 2027. Public ticket sales begin October 23.
Nike announced the New York presentation on October 19. It follows earlier editions in Miami and Paris, making this a new chapter rather than a repeat of the Paris event previously covered by Footwear Magazine.
Footwear within a wider design practice
Nearly 1,000 objects will bring finished work together with prototypes, sketches and archival materials across footwear, fashion, art and other disciplines. The exhibition connects Abloh’s design methods with the approach behind his Nike collaboration, The Ten.
Curated by Chloe Sultan and Mahfuz Sultan, it will also recreate Abloh’s Paris office at Pont Neuf and include a media lab offering access to selected raw design files.
Beyond the galleries
A retail experience co-curated by JJJJound founder Justin Saunders will accompany the exhibition. Conversations, performances and workshops are also planned.
For footwear audiences, the exhibition offers a way to examine the working materials around a collaboration alongside the finished products that reached the public.
