When assessing the footwear people are pulling off, there are some common choices and some trends many shoe lovers adopt. However, alongside some of the prevalent picks out there, some niche inclusions probably aren’t for everyone. Video game shoes are certainly one of them, with these gaming-related sneakers tending to divide opinion.
Some shoes are designed alongside the release of a new game, others celebrate an anniversary of an iconic series, and some products are based on much-loved console machines. Essentially, for gamers who aim to dominate battle royale clashes in PUBG and play slots like Quick Hit Ultra Pays Wolf Mountain at DraftKings Casino, some video game-themed shoes will undoubtedly pique their interest. They aren’t for everyone, though.
With bold designs emerging in recent years, we highlight below the video game shoes that might be worth snapping up and reselling in the future. Likewise, some shoes might suit a specific style you’re attempting to nail, while others might be the perfect gift for a gaming-mad buddy.
Nintendo Vans
People are obsessed with Nintendo games and its iconic consoles, while Vans are worn on all corners of the globe. As such, it probably came as no surprise to see the Japanese video game company and the American apparel giant join forces for an exciting shoe release. Called Nintendo Vans, these adorable designs feature some classic characters from the Nintendo franchise, be it Princess Peach and Mario, or Donkey Kong and Zelda. For many gamers, the Nintendo Vans understandably appeal.
Air Jordan 1 ‘Xbox’
Jordans are extremely popular, but not every lover of them was aware of the release of Air Jordan 1 ‘Xbox’ in 2018. These now rare shoes don’t come cheap, although you might find a bargain price out there if you look hard enough. Featuring glow-in-the-dark outsoles and the distinctive Xbox logo factored into two parts of each shoe, these slick-looking video game shoes are probably one of the better-designed releases out there.
Cyberpunk 2077 Adidas
We’ve witnessed numerous partnerships with Adidas, and while some collaborations haven’t exactly gone to plan, the Cyberpunk 2077 Adidas trainers are a success story. As one of the most iconic brands in the space, plus a video game millions of gamers openly adore, Cyberpunk 2077 Adidas shoes initially flew off the shelves. Despite their popularity, though, some fans of the game feel they aren’t perfect. Still, overall, they did well.
Mario And Bowser Converse
Mario and Bowser are two extremely popular characters from the Super Mario franchise. However, even the staunchest supporter of them probably didn’t see a collaborative shoe-themed design coming to the fore. Teaming up with Converse, the pair were added to the design of a red and green pair of sneakers. As you’ve probably guessed, Bowser was featured on the green shoe and Mario on the red one. It’s tough to know how much you could snap them up for these days, but Mario and Bowser Converse shoes initially cost $200 for the pair. These days, they could be even steeper.
Nike Air Force 1 ‘PlayStation’
Ending with one of the pricier options on the list, Nike Air Force 1 ‘PlayStation’ can be found for as much as $4,000 right now. Not only do they look at the part with their piano black patent leather and the familiar Sony PlayStation logo, but they’re rare. With each pair coming with individual numbering, if you’re able to track down a pair of Nike Air Force 1 ‘PlayStation’ shoes, then you’ve done extremely well for yourself. They don’t come cheap, though.
