adidas Originals and Willy Chavarria are taking their Megaride partnership into more expressive territory with the Pink Chavarria Megaride AG.
The monochromatic release turns an archival running inspired platform into a vivid fashion object, using bubblegum pink, premium materials and bold branding to show how far the collaboration has moved beyond standard sneaker colorways.
Pink takes control
The Pink Megaride AG first appeared during Willy Chavarria’s Spring Summer 2026 runway presentation at Paris Fashion Week.
It quickly became one of the collection’s most discussed footwear pieces, partly because it offered a sharp contrast to the darker, more utilitarian styling often associated with the designer’s work.
The finished release stays close to that runway concept. Pink covers nearly every surface of the shoe, from the upper to the exaggerated Megaride cushioning system.
This is not a subtle use of color. It is a full commitment to a single visual idea, built around the joy and playful confidence of pink bubblegum.
The decision feels deliberate. Willy Chavarria has built his label by working with emotion, identity and bold proportion.
The Pink Megaride applies that point of view to an adidas Originals silhouette that already has a strong late 1990s and early 2000s design language.
Layers create depth
Although the shoe is presented in one dominant color, its material mix keeps the design from appearing flat.
Premium leather is paired with oiled suede, mesh and translucent tonal overlays, bringing contrast through texture rather than color blocking.
The leather adds structure to the upper, while the suede softens the finish and gives the shoe a more elevated feel.
Mesh sections maintain the athletic reference, and the translucent overlays reinforce the Megaride’s futuristic look. Together, these elements make the pink treatment feel layered and intentional.
Bright red Chavarria branding on both tongues provides the only major break in the pink palette. The red writing is small but effective, creating a graphic focal point without disrupting the shoe’s monochrome direction.
A removable silicone keychain charm in pink and red comes with each pair. It is a playful extra, but it also fits the collaboration’s approach to accessories and personal expression.
The sneaker arrives in special edition pink packaging, extending the design story beyond the shoe itself.
Megaride goes runway
The Megaride remains one of adidas Originals’ most distinctive archive based platforms. Its oversized cushioning chambers and technical shape come from a period when running footwear was designed to look mechanical, visible and unapologetically futuristic.
Chavarria uses that foundation well. Rather than simplifying the Megaride or treating it as a conventional lifestyle runner, he leans into its exaggerated proportions.
The large cushioning system makes the shoe feel more sculptural, while the pink finish changes the model’s mood completely.
That tension is central to the release. The Megaride is rooted in sport, but the Pink Chavarria Megaride AG operates as a fashion piece first.
It is designed for people who want footwear that sets the tone for an outfit rather than simply completing one.
Release and access
The adidas Originals x Willy Chavarria Pink Megaride AG retailed for 200 USD and launched on August 7, 2026, at 10 a.m. EST. The release was handled through Hype Draw on the adidas CONFIRMED app, following signups that opened on July 31.
Given the demand for previous Willy Chavarria Megaride releases, the draw based launch made sense. The partnership has built a collector following through limited releases that treat the shoe as a changing platform for Chavarria’s ideas.
Why it matters
adidas Originals and Willy Chavarria Introduce the Pink Megaride because it proves that sportswear archives can still support genuinely original fashion direction.
The shoe does not depend on a safe heritage color scheme or a simple logo swap. It changes the mood of the Megaride through color, texture and proportion.
For sneaker collectors and fashion fans, the Pink Megaride AG represents the strongest part of this partnership: adidas provides the technical archive, while Willy Chavarria pushes it into new cultural spaces. The result is loud, playful and difficult to ignore.
