Birkenstock Korea commissioned Korean craft studio Onn by Soi to produce a set of bespoke scented gift pouches, created to mark the launch of Birkenstock’s new footwear care line in the Korean market.
The pouches are a limited gift item, not a retail product, made specifically to accompany the care line launch as a branded keepsake for recipients.
The craft behind the pouch
Onn by Soi designed the sachet around the motif of a cloth mobile. Birkenstock’s bath salts are housed inside the cloth shaped object, with fragrance transmitted through white ramie fabric, a traditional Korean textile known for its breathability and clean texture. A blue embroidered Birkenstock logo and coordinated auxiliary materials complete the piece.
Brand alignment
The choice of ramie fabric and hand embroidery ties the gift’s material language to Birkenstock’s longstanding emphasis on natural materials across its footwear. The craft forward execution also reflects a wider trend among global footwear and lifestyle brands commissioning local artisans for market specific gift packaging, particularly in South Korea, where branded gifting culture carries significant weight.
A regional gifting moment
The pouches were shared via both the official Birkenstock Korea Instagram account and Onn by Soi’s own channel, pointing to a regionally driven initiative rather than a global rollout. No retail pricing or wider distribution has been confirmed. The item functions as a press or launch gift aligned with the care line debut.
The collaboration is a small but deliberate signal of how Birkenstock is approaching the Korean market, investing in locally made, craft quality brand moments to build affinity beyond footwear.
