Nike and Sabrina Ionescu Unveil the Sabrina 4 With A New FlyPlate System Dropping July 2026

Nike Basketball and New York Liberty WNBA player Sabrina Ionescu unveiled the Sabrina 4 signature footwear and apparel collection on April 8 during Ionescu’s second Asia tour with Nike Basketball in China, with the full collection set to launch in July 2026 at nike.com and select retailers worldwide. The Sabrina 4 marks the most technically ambitious entry in Ionescu’s signature line, introducing a TPU FlyPlate and Aero FIT apparel technology to the collection for the first time.

The FlyPlate System

The Sabrina 4’s headline innovation is a TPU FlyPlate inspired by the mechanics of a sprinter’s launch off the starting blocks, re engineered for the lateral cuts and quick reaction times of basketball. It works in combination with a responsive forefoot Air Zoom unit and a Cushlon 3.0 midsole, delivering what Nike describes as support and stability without sacrificing court feel. The plate also nods to Nike’s track and field legacy at the University of Oregon, Ionescu’s alma mater.

Design Details

The silhouette pushes toward a more modern expression than Ionescu’s first three signature shoes. A lightweight upper features a new haptic print referencing her Romanian heritage, with an “S” transitioning to an “I” from heel to forefoot, and a lowercase “i” heel motif that has become the collection’s signature mark. A carved collar shape, perforated tongue, and compression molded forefoot vamp complete the construction. Mirrored finish Swooshes, including a vertical medial Swoosh, carry symbolic weight for Ionescu, representing both barriers broken and her commitment to growing the game.

Aero-FIT Apparel Debut

The Sabrina 4 apparel collection brings Nike’s Aero-FIT cooling technology to the basketball court for the first time. Engineered at the yarn and stitch level, Aero-FIT combines open and closed mesh zones to move air across the body and lift fabric off the skin, and is made from 100 percent textile waste. The technology appears across Ionescu’s signature jersey and shorts.
