Oner Active is moving from online-only to IRL, signing a 10‑year lease for a store on Bond Street in New York.

It is a big step for the UK brand, which was created “by women, for women” and until now has had no permanent retail space even in its home market.

From digital native to destination store

Up to this point, Oner has been a pure e‑commerce player, building its following through social media, drops and community-led content. Opening a long-term flagship in Manhattan marks a shift in how the brand shows up: from being something you scroll and ship, to something you can visit, feel and experience.

Founder Krissy Cela has said that New York is Oner’s “biggest city,” which made it feel like the right place for a first store. She also describes the concept as something she has poured “a lot of love and consideration” into, supported by a team of creatives to bring her vision to life.

Renovations are due to start in about four weeks, and she has hinted that this is just the beginning, with more locations already on the roadmap.

Community first: Walk Club to flagship

The move into retail is built on an existing community, not the other way around. Oner has already been gathering women in New York through its Oner Walk Club, a simple but effective format that turns followers into real-world connections.

Those walks are now expanding to Manchester and London, reinforcing the idea that Oner sees itself as more than a product brand it wants to be a support system and a social circle.

That community lens will likely carry into the Bond Street space. Rather than a straightforward shop floor, expect a hub for events, meetups and launches where customers can train together, talk and try on pieces in a setting that feels aligned with the brand’s message around confidence and performance.

A wider UK activewear push into the US

Oner is part of a bigger story: UK activewear labels doubling down on the US. Gymshark has already sketched a template first opening a flagship in London’s Regent Street in 2022, then rolling out stores in Manchester and major London malls, before crossing the Atlantic.

Its first US location landed on Long Island in 2025, followed later that year by a Bond Street flagship of its own.

Gymshark is now going even further with a dedicated gym in Wynwood, Miami, built as a physical expression of its “We Do Gym” ethos. Founder Ben Francis has called Miami the only place that made sense for such a project, citing the city’s dense fitness culture and appetite for health.

Placed alongside Gymshark’s moves, Oner’s Bond Street lease signals that the next phase of growth for UK-born active brands is not just shipping to American customers, but embedding themselves in US cities.

For Oner Active, that means turning an already strong New York community into a daily, physical presence and using that flagship as a launchpad for whatever comes next.
