Adidas and Sydney based label Song for the Mute have launched “The First Breath,” marking the first time their ongoing creative partnership has stepped into performance running territory.

A New Chapter in An Existing Partnership

Song for the Mute and adidas have collaborated across multiple seasons, but previous work was rooted in lifestyle and Originals silhouettes, including the Samba and SL72 Pro previewed for FW26. “The First Breath” moves that relationship into a technical context for the first time, applying the label’s design language to adidas Running’s performance framework rather than its archival catalog.

Supernova Rise 3 at the Center

The focal point is a reworked Supernova Rise 3, an everyday running silhouette built for comfort, balance, and reliability, offered in two colorways: Auburn and Off White. Hand drawn detailing runs across the midsole in both versions, and the palette stays within deep earth tones and antiqued neutrals that reflect Song for the Mute’s preference for restrained, tactile aesthetics over loud branding. Both pairs retail at $130.

Adi365 Apparel System

Beyond the shoe, the collection builds out the Adi365 apparel system with tanks, tees, and shorts across men’s, women’s, and unisex fits, rounding out the range for runners who want a cohesive head to toe look rather than a standalone statement shoe. Visuals across the campaign lean into stillness and early morning ritual, capturing preparation and recovery rather than race day performance.

Where to Buy

The full SS26 collection went live on April 2, 2026, on adidas.com, at select adidas Running retail locations, on Song for the Mute’s own channels, and with premium partners worldwide. Early sell through signals strong demand, with the Italian adidas site already showing the collection as sold out shortly after launch.
