Style Capital, a Milan-based private equity firm has acquired a majority stake in the premium sneaker brand Autry. This acquisition involves a 50.2 percent share of the company, previously owned by The Made in Italy Fund and the brand's founders, the Doro family. The transaction is valued at approximately 300 million euros, with the Made in Italy fund reinvesting an 8 percent share and the Doro family retaining a 42 percent share.
The investment by Style Capital is expected to significantly impact Autry's business, as it will initiate a retail expansion both within Italy and internationally. Plans include opening more than 20 monobrand stores in key luxury locations, further developing the digital channel, and consolidating wholesale distribution on a global scale. This aligns with Style Capital's history of blending investment with brand development expertise to foster sustainable, long-term growth.
Roberta Benaglia, the CEO of Style Capital since 2016, has expressed the ambition to consolidate Autry's rapid growth and lay the foundations for a sustainable and international growth path. She envisions transforming Autry into an iconic brand through investment in storytelling, brand awareness, and product innovation.
Autry, acquired by the Made in Italy investment fund in 2021 and overseen by the Quadrivio Group in collaboration with the communications agency Pambianco, has shown dynamic performance in recent years. Autry's products are currently carried by around 750 multibrand boutiques in Italy and abroad, mainly in Europe, and its digital channel accounts for about 20 percent of sales.
With Style Capital's extensive sector knowledge and successful investment track record, Autry is poised to consolidate its international development and launch a solid retail development plan.
