adidas is placing Stan Smith’s archive beside upcoming footwear at “Future of Three,” its October experience at Shanghai’s ROJO Art & Culture Space. The brand detailed the residency, runway show and showroom in an October 19 announcement.

The Stan Smith residency links historical pieces from Germany with previews of future versions. That gives the event a specific footwear narrative: a familiar silhouette connects archive material, styling and new product.

From archive to runway

According to adidas’s announcement, the runway brings together Spring/Summer 2027 collections, outdoor and winter styles, and an adidas Originals Neo-Chinese collection. Y-3 presents a dedicated segment, described by adidas as its first runway presentation in China.

A showroom extends the program into product viewing, including running pieces and collaborations with DIDU, Song for the Mute, Simone Rocha and GALI.

A community setting for previews

The wider experience includes tennis-inspired activities, music and an Originals Sport Playground. Those elements place the products within a participatory event rather than a conventional showroom alone.

Shanghai provides a setting to connect global brand archives with local creative participation. Stan Smith makes that connection tangible through a recognizable shoe appearing across past and forthcoming designs.
