Adidas Originals and Willy Chavarria are teaming up with the Compton Cowboys on the “WHERE WE MEET” capsule, a Los Angeles rooted project that connects Western, basketball, and street cultures around community. The collection is positioned around everyday connection and craft rather than a single athlete or city specific hype moment.
Los Angeles as the anchor
The “WHERE WE MEET” story is built around Los Angeles and the Compton Cowboys’ world, using their ranch, community work, and equestrian imagery as the backdrop. Visuals from the campaign show Cowboys members in collaborative adidas looks on and around horses, tying the product directly to their daily environment.
The three way collaboration arrives alongside NBA All Star weekend, giving adidas a cultural basketball hook while still centering LA and its local narratives rather than the host city alone. That framing fits Willy Chavarria’s broader work with adidas, which often starts from specific communities and location based stories.
Footwear highlights
The capsule’s footwear focus includes two key pairs:
- A Willy Chavarria designed Harden Vol. 10.
- A Compton Cowboys x adidas Superstar.
Harden Vol. 10 features an all over silver molded upper with black rose detailing, first worn by James Harden. The Compton Cowboys Superstar features a suede upper, metal shell toe with handkerchief patterning, and co branded tongue and insole elements that reference equestrian gear and bandana codes.
Apparel and craft details
The apparel capsule shown with the Compton Cowboys includes: a chino track jacket with matching shorts, a pinstriped jersey and track set, and a star logo crewneck, tee, and shorts package. Cuts follow Chavarria’s familiar, slightly exaggerated proportions while keeping core adidas signifiers visible. Those pieces are styled to move between the ranch, city streets, and All Star adjacent events.
Release timing and access
The Compton Cowboys x Superstar and the Harden Vol. 10 will drop on February 13, tied to an All Star weekend window. Launch channels include adidas online, the CONFIRMED app, select retailers, and a Los Angeles specific activation hosted with Shoe Palace.
For sneaker collectors and basketball fans, “WHERE WE MEET” reads as another example of adidas using collaborative design to highlight local stories and community partners, rather than only star driven performance narratives.
