ASICS and Bangkok based retailer CARNIVAL have released the GEL KAYANO 12.1 “Phra Nakhon,” a colorway inspired by one of Bangkok’s oldest and most culturally layered districts, where traditional heritage and modern street culture exist side by side. The special package is available exclusively to CARNIVAL Gold Members.
The Phra Nakhon Story
Phra Nakhon is a historic district in the heart of Bangkok, home to temples, royal grounds, and open public spaces that have long served as gathering points for locals. The design draws on that cultural mix, translating the district’s identity of diversity and coexistence into the colorway and packaging concept rather than a literal visual reference.
Packaging Built Around the Chula Kite
The shoe arrives in a hexagonal box shaped by the geometry of the Chula kite, a traditional Thai kite associated with the open fields of Phra Nakhon where kite flying has been practiced for generations. The packaging is made from environmentally friendly materials and frames the release as a complete cultural object, not just a shoe drop.

The Gold Member exclusive set includes:
- Chula kite
