Sport becomes a global engine for connection, opportunity, and impact.
A Landmark Partnership at the Intersection of Sport and Community
Bank of America has signed a multi-year partnership with Sir David Beckham as the global ambassador for its sports platform, Sports with Us.
The program is designed to harness world-class events and partnerships to inspire participation. It aims to expand access and deliver long-term benefits to communities across the U.S. and around the world.
“Sport has the power to bring people together and to create a lasting impact on young people and communities all over the world. I’ve seen firsthand how programmes such as Sports with Us make real change. They allow access and opportunities that are vital in our communities,” said Sir David Beckham.
“I applaud Brian Moynihan and his team’s long-term plans to use sports as a vehicle for change. I’m inspired by their efforts which have made me reflect on my own experiences both in sport and through my work with organisations like UNICEF. I am proud to partner with Bank of America to extend this work. I aim to use my platform to shine a light on their incredible and impactful Sports with Us programming” added Sir David Beckham
Sports with Us (From Global Stages to Local Streets)
Sports with Us builds on Bank of America’s existing sports portfolio, aligning sponsorships around participation, well-being and economic impact. Beginning in 2026, the bank will stand behind key properties including:
-
FIFA World Cup 26 as official bank sponsor
-
Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America and the Bank of America Chicago Marathon
In 2025 alone, the Boston and Chicago marathons delivered more than $1.1 billion in combined economic impact and over $90 million in charitable giving, benefiting more than 400 partner organizations.
Why Beckham Is the Right Face for the Platform
“Sir David’s work to support communities around the world and his passion for helping others excel, achieve and participate in sports are second to none. He shares our drive to connect and empower people through sport,” said David Tyrie, President, Marketing, Digital and Specialized Consumer Client Solutions. “With Sir David’s help, we’ll accelerate change and invest where it matters most”.
Beyond mega-events, Sports with Us includes youth clinics across multiple U.S. cities. In these clinics, pro athletes, celebrities, and Bank of America employees use sport to teach teamwork, resilience, and leadership.
Over the next decade, the goal is to positively influence hundreds of thousands of young people. This initiative aims to give them tools that translate from the field to the classroom and workplace.
Authentic Brands Group and the Business of Brand Beckham
The partnership runs through Authentic Brands Group (Authentic), which co‑owns and manages Beckham’s global brand. Authentic Live, its live events division, will help deliver on-the-ground experiences for Bank of America at major sports properties.
Authentic’s portfolio spans more than 50 global brands from Reebok, Champion, and Nautica to icons like Shaquille O’Neal, Muhammad Ali, Sports Illustrated, and David Beckham.
They reach consumers in over 150 countries and generate about $32 billion in annual systemwide retail sales.
Beckham’s Evolving Legacy On and Off the Pitch
Sir David Beckham’s on-field career included league titles in England, Spain, the U.S., and France with clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, and Paris Saint‑Germain. He also spent six years as England captain. Since retiring in 2013, he has become co‑owner of Inter Miami CF. He has built a global portfolio of brand partnerships while putting philanthropy at the center of his post‑playing life.
He has served nearly two decades as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Additionally, he launched the 7 Fund with UNICEF, supports Malaria No More, and was appointed Ambassador for The King’s Foundation in 2024.
As Ambassadorial President of the British Fashion Council, he champions British fashion and creative industries. In September 2025, he was knighted by King Charles III for services to sport and charity. This cements his role as a cultural and humanitarian leader as much as a football icon.
Despite his extensive portfolio of endorsements—including brands like Adidas, Stella Artois, Tudor Watches, Hugo Boss, and most recently Bank of America—Beckham has conspicuously avoided partnerships with sports betting operators or bookmakers.
This stands in contrast to many football clubs and athletes who have embraced betting sponsorships, particularly in the Premier League, where gambling companies have been prominent shirt sponsors. Premier League clubs have relied heavily on betting sponsors in recent seasons, but that model is under growing regulatory pressure, including a recent warning from the Gambling Commission to clubs over links with unlicensed operators
Sport as a Platform for Progress
With Sir David Beckham as ambassador, Bank of America aims to make Sports with Us a global proof point. Major sports partnerships can do more than entertain they can open doors, strengthen communities, and create lasting legacies.
From the world’s biggest tournaments to grassroots clinics, the program is positioned to turn powerful sports moments into meaningful change for the next generation.
