A leading fashion apparel retailer, Express has announced the appointment of renowned industry expert Brian Atwood as their new Creative Director of Footwear. Atwood will oversee the design and production of women’s and statement men’s footwear.
Express is keen to generate excitement around its shoe business, which is its largest demand-driving category in accessories. Sara Tervo, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Express, expressed her confidence in Atwood’s ability to elevate the brand’s offerings. She said, “We knew Brian’s eye for design and industry credibility would elevate the offering and complement the seasonal product assortment. He is a master at designing shoes that create confidence – which is what Express always aims to deliver our customers.”

In addition to his new role, Atwood is also launching an exclusive shoe collaboration with Express, titled ‘Brian Atwood for Express.’ The collection features Atwood’s signature styles of feathered heels and slouchy boots, perfect for the upcoming fall season. The collection, priced between $68-$298, offers customers unique, elevated designs made of high-quality materials. Fans can look forward to monthly drops of the collection, which will include styles for both women and men.
Atwood shared his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating: “The process was very organic and the team at Express was wonderful and open to new ideas. We were really focused on elevating the product and creating timeless shoes that people want to get resoled because they love them so much. We’re going to give the customer something they haven’t had yet.”
Starting today, the ‘Brian Atwood for Express’ collection will be available exclusively in stores and online at express.com. For more information on the partnership and collaboration, follow the brand’s social channels @express and @expressmen.
