Fila used its AW26 Milan Fashion Week show to push a clear idea: taking performance sportswear off the track and building a sharper, commuter first FILA MILANO wardrobe for the city.
Milan runway, 115 years on
Staged amid glowing pillars on the final day of Milan Fashion Week, the AW26 collection coincided with Fila’s 115th anniversary and its return to the official schedule under creative director Alistair Carr. The presentation framed Milan itself as the reference point, translating the city’s daily rhythm into tailored outerwear, technical layers and sneakers designed to move.
FILA MILANO, elevated basics
The revived FILA MILANO line leads the story, with bomber coats, shirt jackets, waterproof trousers and lightweight knits styled as modular, functional outfits. Zip track tops, polo shirts, and nylon gusseted blousons rework archive sports pieces into cleaner, office adjacent silhouettes, often in Fila’s red, white, and blue alongside black, camel, and grey.
Commutercore styling cues
Looks pair leather midi skirts or tailored shorts with flat sneakers, referencing the commutercore idea of dressing for desk and dash in one go. Small details, gym whistles, keys, riding gloves and structured bags, keep the sports narrative in play while signalling a move toward a more polished, corporate adjacent customer.
Footwear steps forward
Footwear has a bigger role than in previous Fila shows, with low profile sneakers reworked in neutral tones and velcro straps for men, and fitted, biker adjacent leather boots for women. The lineup points to a broader push: using runway storytelling to reposition Fila footwear as part of a full urban uniform, not just a performance afterthought.
