American Exchange Group (AEG) has strategically acquired the Island Surf Company, a brand known for its nautical-themed footwear. This acquisition, announced on July 11, 2024, will further American Exchange Group's footprint in the footwear industry by integrating Island Surf Company into White Mountain Footwear, another brand in AEG's portfolio since January 2023.

"We see tremendous potential with the acquisition of Island Surf Company," said Alen Mamrout, CEO of American Exchange Group. "The synergy between White Mountain and Island Surf Company will allow us to broaden the brand's reach and transform it into a complete lifestyle brand. There are extensive opportunities to expand Island Surf Company into various categories through strategic licensing, utilizing our shared resources and expertise to maximize its market impact and appeal."

Island Surf Company, established as a niche brand specializing in coastal-inspired footwear, will now benefit from White Mountain Footwear's established infrastructure and extensive market reach. This infrastructure includes advanced sourcing capabilities, retail solid partnerships, and industry expertise built over decades. The brand’s product lineup, which highlights items like the men’s Cod II FOM Boat Shoe, will now reach an even broader audience.

Joe O’Brien, the current President and CEO of Island Surf Company, will continue to lead the brand under the new ownership. "We are excited to join forces with American Exchange Group. This acquisition marks a new chapter for Island Surf Company, allowing us to expand our footprint and bring our coastal-inspired footwear to a broader audience. We look forward to leveraging our shared strengths to enhance our product offerings and deliver exceptional value to our customers" said O'Brien.
