Development kicked off in 2023 with The End-to-End Project: Bruce Trail Adventure, a 936 km trek along Canada’s oldest and longest marked footpath. Prototypes continued through 2024 on formidable terrain in South Africa, Iceland, and the Appalachian Trail. June 2025 in Alaska delivered the ultimate test: final, market-ready boots faced the elements head-on, with every feature scrutinized across mud, rock, snow, and unpredictable conditions.

Leather & Nylon Mid-Height Upper: Each boot’s combination of tough leather and flexible nylon provides both ruggedness and freedom of movement, engineered for support through rocky ascents or muddy descents.
Comfort-Padded Top Collar: Surrounds the ankle in soft, reliable cushioning for long days, whether navigating switchbacks or steep ridgelines.
Speed-Lace and Heel Secure Lock: New speed-lacing system with an integrated locking mechanism guarantees a custom, secure fit on variable terrain.
Pull Loop: Streamlined entry, even with gloved hands, so hikers can get boots on and off quickly during unpredictable weather.
B-Tek Eco Construction: Incorporates sustainable materials for a smaller environmental footprint, without sacrificing technical performance.

Both BRUCE MID and ELORA MID are rated Northern for optimal comfort during moderate activity across demanding climates. The boots’ B-Tek Dry Waterproof Breathable membrane and booty construction ensure feet stay protected and ventilated—so hikers remain comfortable in the rain, melting snow, or between river crossings.

Tested by Baffin’s own team in temperatures from 10°C to -10°C (50°F to 14°F), the boots are built for wet-to-icy conditions, but remain breathable and flexible in varied spring and shoulder seasons.
