Converse is pushing its icon into full avant garde mode with the Converse x Anonymous Club Chuck 70, a brutalist, strapped up high top inspired by Shayne Oliver’s infamous dunce cap and club kid armor.

Shayne Oliver’s Club Kid Lens

The collab comes through Oliver’s Anonymous Club studio, the experimental arm of the Hood By Air founder that sits between fashion, music, and art. Converse positions the Chuck 70 here as a canvas for outsiders and club kids, reworked into something closer to a sculptural boot than a straightforward sneaker.

Dunce Cap, Reimagined

The design nods to Oliver’s dunce cap motif through its exaggerated, tower like collar and strapped construction, turning height and constraint into a statement rather than a punishment. Three bold Velcro straps lock across the forefoot and ankle, creating a taped up, almost industrial feel that recalls DIY club gear and performance outfits.

Materials and Construction

Leather replaces traditional canvas on the upper, with rubberized finishes and bonded seams giving the shoe a latex like, armor style surface. A layered shoe within a shoe build, full inner sock, and towering high top cut push the Chuck 70 silhouette into boot territory while keeping it wearable on foot.

Colorways and Details

The pack lands in two main executions: Glacier Grey/White, Black and Black/Steel Grey, both keeping branding minimal and tonal. Anonymous Club graphics repeat subtly along the foxing, while dual lace options and those oversized straps give plenty of room to style the shoe loose, tight, or half fastened.

Release and Access

The Converse x Anonymous Club Chuck 70 collection releases on March 17 via Converse.com, SNKRS, and select retailers, with pricing around $150 to $155 in unisex sizing. For collectors and fashion forward Chuck fans, it is a focused drop that treats the classic Chuck 70 as a piece of wearable sculpture, rather than just another colorway.
