New Balance has unveiled a trio of limited edition FuelCell SuperComp spikes created with Quincy Wilson, Gabby Thomas, and Parker Valby, each pair built as a direct extension of the athlete’s story and race-day identity. Wilson and Thomas are both getting custom FuelCell SuperComp MDX v3 colorways releasing in February 2026, while Valby’s FuelCell SuperComp LDX has already dropped at $170.
Athlete-led spike series
New Balance introduced the spikes to celebrate each athlete’s journey, competitive spirit, and personal style, drawing influence from their backgrounds and on-track personas. The line-up includes Wilson’s black-and-grey MDX v3, Thomas’ bold pink MDX v3, and Valby’s white LDX with subtle pink accents, all sitting on FuelCell SuperComp platforms.
Quincy Wilson’s 990-inspired MDX
Wilson, a 17-year-old phenom closing out his high school career at Bullis School in Maryland, built his MDX v3 around home. “The grey pays homage to the iconic 990, a staple in the DMV and a nod to where I come from, while the black represents the power and strength I’ve had to lean on through it all,” Wilson said. “This isn’t just a spike, it’s a piece of my story, and I’m honored to share it with you.”

Parker Valby’s “pressure is a privilege” LDX
Valby’s FuelCell SuperComp LDX, an all-white spike with light pink touches on the lace eyelets and pull tab, channels her approach to racing in her second pro season. “Racing is how I express who I am. Every time I step on the line, I’m chasing the best version of myself – and I want this spike to help you do the same. It’s built for those who dream big and race even bigger. Remember, pressure is a privilege and you’re more than ready for the moment. You’re stronger than you think – good luck out there!” Parker Valby said.

Gabby Thomas’s elegant, emotional MDX
Thomas steps into a non-championship year with a vivid pink MDX v3 that mirrors her presence on and off the track. “Running is when I feel the most myself. I feel elegant, strong, anxious, confident, and alive. It has taught me so much about myself, and after so many years, it still does. I am still writing my story, and every time I step onto the track, it’s like putting pen to paper. You are unstoppable. You are capable of more than you know. Don’t wait until you feel ready- go chase your dreams now,” Gabby Thomas said.
