Skechers celebrates the 17th annual Pier to Pier Friendship Walk presented by Nickelodeon uniting thousands in Manhattan and Hermosa Beach to raise over $2.5 million in support of children with special needs public education and college scholarships.
Walking for Inclusion, Education, and Hope
The Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk, returning for its 17th year on October 19, 2025, continues its legacy as one of Southern California’s largest charity walks. Founded in 2009, the event now attracts more than 21,000 participants and raises millions annually for children’s causes. This year, Skechers aims to surpass $2.5 million in donations for local public schools, students with diverse abilities, and the company’s national college scholarship program.
Michael Greenberg, President of Skechers, said:
“Over the past 17 years, the Walk has become a beloved fall tradition one that truly reflects the heart of what community and love are all about. We’re building a world of opportunity and compassion, where kids with special needs are surrounded by friends, students’ dreams take flight, and families rally to create brighter futures.”
Star-Studded Support and Community Spirit
Hosted at Manhattan Beach Pier, the celebration stretches along the coastal route to Hermosa Beach Pier, offering scenic ocean views and live entertainment. The 2025 event will feature appearances by Howie Mandel, Brooke Burke, and the cast of Love on the Spectrum, alongside Nickelodeon stars from Monster High, The Thundermans: Undercover, and Erin & Aaron.
Howie Mandel, said:
“I want to walk with the thousands cheering for our kids and trust me, I need the exercise. I’m such a big fan of what Skechers and Nickelodeon are doing to educate and inspire children. We’re storming the beaches for a cause all for our kids!”
A pet adoption fair run by The Lovejoy Foundation and a family-friendly festival atmosphere will round out the day, emphasizing community, positivity, and inclusion. Admission costs range from $30 to $35, and participants can still register online atskechersfriendshipwalk.com.
Where the Money Goes: Building Futures
Funds from the walk support multiple initiatives:
- The Friendship Foundation, which fosters friendships and life skills for neurodiverse youth through 60+ programs, including music, art, and fitness.
- A new $55 million Friendship Campus, slated to open in 2026, offering career training, mentorship programs, and vocational support for young adults with diverse abilities.
- Local public school improvement, enabling smaller class sizes, enhanced facilities, and job stability for teachers.
- The Skechers Foundation’s national scholarship program, which has awarded over $2.3 million to students demonstrating excellence in academics, athletics, and leadership.
Powered by Partnerships and Sponsors
Presented by Nickelodeon, the Walk is supported by an extensive list of partners including Rare Beauty, Bank of America, Ross Stores, Chevron, Amazon, Honda, WSS, TJX Companies, Topgolf, and LA Kings. Their continued support ensures that 100% of donations go directly to children and educational programs.
Participants can join virtually or in person and celebrate across beaches, classrooms, and communities proving that every step taken together moves the next generation closer to inclusion, opportunity, and brighter tomorrows.
