Textil Lonia said its 2024 profit fell 34% to €36.3 million as the Spanish fashion group worked through a year of reorganisation alongside a softer sales backdrop. Revenue for the year was €410.4 million, down 4.5%, keeping the company above the €400 million mark but clearly off its recent peak.
Reorganisation Context
The group, controlled by the Domínguez family, operates Purificación García and runs the CH Carolina Herrera licence, and it spent the year reshaping parts of the business while maintaining a broad international footprint. It also ended the period with the acquisition of Christian Lacroix, which expanded its brand portfolio late in the fiscal year.
Profit Pressure Was Sharp
Operating income contracted 47.6% to €38.4 million, a steeper drop than net profit and a sign that costs and transition effects weighed on the P&L. Total debt stood at €109.6 million, with liabilities largely concentrated in the short term, while long-term debt was reduced compared with the prior year.
Americas Led Sales
By geography, the Americas remained the biggest market at €213.9 million, followed by Spain at €122.3 million. Sales declines were described across regions, including Asia at €40.7 million (down 12.3%) and the rest of Europe at around €32.5 million (flat).
Store Base Held Steady
Textil Lonia finished the year with 583 stores and points of sale, only slightly lower than the year before. The mix included 354 department store points, 132 company owned stores, and 100 franchises, suggesting the year’s margin hit was not driven by a sudden collapse in distribution.
For luxury fashion operators and brand-license watchers, the results highlight a familiar trade-off: portfolio expansion and internal reshaping can protect long-term positioning, but they often come with near term profit compression when sales momentum cools.
