This International Women’s Day, we celebrate Kristine Anigwe—a Nigerian-American basketball star, fashion visionary, and advocate for inclusivity. Known for her electrifying presence on the court and her groundbreaking work in the fashion industry, Kristine is a true trailblazer, seamlessly blending athleticism with artistry to inspire women worldwide.

Born in London and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Kristine’s journey to greatness began early. A standout at Desert Vista High School, she led the United States to two FIBA age group World Championships (under-17s in 2014 and under-19s in 2015). Her talent only grew at the University of California, Berkeley, where she became the school’s all-time leader in points, rebounds, and blocked shots—a feat that cemented her legacy as one of the most formidable players in collegiate basketball history.

Drafted ninth overall by the Connecticut Sun in the 2019 WNBA draft, Kristine has spent five seasons dazzling fans with her athleticism and determination. But Kristine’s influence extends far beyond the hardwood. In 2021, she launched KA Originals, a luxury womenswear brand born out of her own struggle to find stylish, size-inclusive clothing—a challenge many active and tall women face. Drawing from her global upbringing and basketball career, Kristine’s designs are bold, culturally rich, and empowering. Her mission? To make women feel confident and comfortable in their own skin.

Kristine’s impact doesn’t stop at designing. She’s become the go-to stylist and creative director for sports stars like Skylar Diggins-Smith, Cameron Brink, and Tiffany Hayes, crafting iconic tunnel and red carpet looks that have helped these players secure brand deals and amplify their personal brands. Through her styling work, Kristine is redefining the image of women athletes, proving that they can be both fierce competitors and fashion icons.

Whether she’s sinking a game-winning shot, designing a show-stopping piece for KA Originals, or styling her peers for the spotlight, Kristine approaches every endeavor with passion and purpose.

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate Kristine Anigwe for her relentless drive, her commitment to inclusivity, and her ability to seamlessly blend athleticism with artistry. She’s a reminder that true style isn’t confined to the runway—it’s found in the courage to be unapologetically yourself. A trailblazer in sneakers and stilettos, a force on the court and in the fashion world, and an inspiration to women everywhere. Keep shining, Kristine—your game is flawless, your style is unmatched, and your impact is undeniable.
