ASICS is doubling down on the run in your dress shoes idea with the RUNWALK TRAD SNEAKER LUX, a menswear model that borrows its look from classic leather footwear while hiding full running shoe tech underfoot. Positioned as formal workwear, city shoe, and long time wear, the shoe sits inside the brand’s Japan led ASICS WALKING portfolio rather than its global Sportstyle line.
Dress Code Meets Sneakers
The RUNWALK TRAD SNEAKER LUX is designed as a dress sneaker that matches a suit, built with a plain toe silhouette, punched toe detailing, and small saw tooth edges around the eyelet reinforcement that echo traditional leather shoes. ASICS stripes along the sidewall highlight the brand, while a removable kiltie panel lets people switch between a more classic or cleaner look.
ASICS describes the shoe as carrying an air of refinement, ideal for office wear or as businesswear, for people who need formal look without giving up sneaker comfort.
French Kip Leather and Full Leather Lining
The RUNWALK TRAD SNEAKER LUX uses French kip leather sourced from high quality raw hides, chosen for its fine grain, softness, and ability to age well with wear. The lining is also full leather, giving the interior a more traditional dress shoe feel and long term durability.
Running Tech
Under the hood, the model runs a full ASICS tech stack. The insole is a foot hugging OrthoLite sockliner for cushioning and moisture management, with high moisture absorbing synthetic leather placed in the forefoot for better humidity control. The midsole uses SpEVA, a blend of EVA and rubber that combines cushioning and rebound to support long walking days.
In the heel, ASICS builds in its GEL shock absorption system to soften impact, while the outsole is made from AHAR rubber, a highly abrasion resistant compound designed to extend wear life on hard city surfaces.
