NBA 2K26 Unveils Gen 9 Gameplay, Star-Studded Covers, and New Features for Nintendo Switch 2

Today, 2K revealed the cover athletes for the highly anticipated NBA 2K26, bringing next-generation gameplay, modes, and features to Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time. The Standard Edition will feature Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the three-time All-Star Oklahoma City Thunder Point Guard, 2024-25 KIA Most Valuable Player, and NBA Finals MVP. Angel Reese, Chicago Sky Forward, AT&T WNBA All-Star, 2024 All-Rookie Team, and NCAA Champion, graces the NBA 2K26 WNBA Edition—a GameStop Exclusive Physical Edition available in the United States. The 2025 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee, 10-time NBA All-Star, three-time Olympic Gold Medalist, and NBA 75th Anniversary Team member, Carmelo Anthony, will be on the NBA 2K26 Superstar Edition. For a limited time, Gilgeous-Alexander, Reese, and Anthony will share the cover of the NBA 2K26 Leave No Doubt Edition.

Angel Reese makes history as the face of the WNBA Edition and debuts her signature Reebok shoe on the cover. She said:

NBA 2K26 will introduce all-new ProPLAY features for Gen 9 consoles, delivering immersive technology that highlights every dribble, crossover, and dynamic movement. The revamped MyCAREER offers a fresh journey to NBA stardom, while MyTEAM pits legends against each other in new single-player and multiplayer modes. MyNBA returns, letting fans manage a franchise with 30 unique storylines.
