Nike and Berlin based designer Melitta Baumeister have reimagined the Vomero Premium and Pegasus Premium around the idea of “Run Like No One Is Watching,” merging high fashion and high performance for everyday city living. Both silhouettes drop first on melittabaumeister.com on April 1, followed by Dover Street Market globally on April 7 and SNKRS and select Nike and NBHD retail locations on April 8.
Run Like No One Is Watching
The collaboration’s central theme reframes running as a personal, joyful act rather than a performance for external approval. Baumeister, known for her sculptural approach to fashion, sees sport as inspiration rather than identity, an approach that aligns directly with Nike’s long standing mantra that if you have a body, you are an athlete. Layers of graphics incorporate Baumeister’s own eyes and hands, making each shoe feel intimate and personal rather than purely decorative.
Hand Painted and One of a Kind
The Vomero Premium, available in Total Orange, is hand painted by Baumeister, making each pair a unique artifact. The paint is intentional proof of the maker’s touch, embracing imperfection as part of the design philosophy. Melitta Baumeister says, “The designs are artful and alive. Each hand painted pair of Vomero Premiums is transformed into a one of a kind artifact of human touch where the paint serves as proof, not decoration.”
Air Zoom and ZoomX
The Vomero Premium in Total Orange features two energy boosting Air Zoom units surrounded by ultrasoft, responsive ZoomX foam and MB branding. The Pegasus Premium in Volt features ZoomX foam, a sculpted Air Zoom unit, ReactX foam, and MB branding, a bold neon design that Baumeister describes as inviting runners to move freely even as the shoe seems to watch them back.
The Release Window
Both shoes are available April 1 on melittabaumeister.com; April 7 at Dover Street Market in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, London, Beijing, Ginza, and Singapore; and April 8 on SNKRS and select Nike and NBHD retail locations globally. Nike Athlete Sha’Carri Richardson unveiled the Pegasus Premium earlier in March, while the Vomero Premium debuted at a New York City installation ahead of NYC Marathon weekend last October.
