On Holgind AG is closing 2025 as a breakout year in elite sport, with its athletes winning world titles, smashing records, and lifting trophies from Tokyo to New York City to Wimbledon. The performance wave spans track, trail, road, triathlon, and tennis, signaling how the Swiss brand is pushing deeper into the top tier of global competition.
Track stars drive a golden year
On the track, On athletes turned 2025 into a historic milestone with the brand’s first-ever world record and multiple global titles. Middle-distance standout Yared Nuguse opened the year by setting a new Indoor Mile World Record at the Millrose Games, marking the first world record for an On athlete.
At the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Geordie Beamish took gold in the 3000m steeplechase, while Ditaji Kambundji won gold in the 100m hurdles, becoming the first Swiss woman to claim a World Championships gold medal. Sprinter Marissa Papaconstantinou earned On its first World Para Athletics medals with bronze in the T64 100m and silver in the T64 200m, extending the brand’s impact into para sport.
Records, medals, and Diamond League wins
The medal haul went beyond outdoor championships, with On athletes taking continental and global indoor honors. At the European Indoor Championships, Ditaji Kambundji won the 60m hurdles in European record time, while Agathe Guillemot captured the 1500m title.
At the World Indoor Championships, Ditaji Kambundji added silver in the 60m hurdles and Ky Robinson secured bronze in the 3000m. Across the season, the On team also collected seven Diamond League titles and set numerous national records, solidifying the brand’s presence on the biggest one-day stages in athletics.
Trail and ultra wins across the globe
On the trails, on athletes dominated some of the toughest courses in Europe and the United States, often in products they helped design. In a major moment for the brand, Antoine Charvolin delivered On’s first win during UTMB finals week, taking victory in the TDS (145km) in the CloudUltra Pro, a shoe he helped develop.
Ultra star Katie Schide won the long-course race at the World Trail and Mountain Running Championships and the legendary HardRock 100, while Philemon Kiriago triumphed at Sierre-Zinal and in the Classic Up and Down race at the same World Championships. Baptiste Chassagne claimed the iconic Diagonale des Fous on debut, and Jeff Mogavero ran the fastest debut ever at the Western States 100-mile race, finishing fourth and highlighting On’s depth in ultra-distance running.
Marathon, triathlon, and tennis breakthroughs
On the roads, Sutume Asefa Kebede became the first woman to win back-to-back Tokyo Marathon titles, while Hellen Obiri won her second New York City Marathon, breaking the course record and taking a gritty second place in the fastest Boston Marathon to date. These results keep on front and center in the world’s most-watched city marathons.
In triathlon, On strengthened its position by signing Kona World Champion Solveig Løvseth and backing a roster that delivered from Olympic distance to long-course formats. Lisa Tertsch became the first On and first German woman to win the Olympic Distance world title, Jelle Geens defended his 70.3 world crown in a sprint with fellow On star Kristian Blummenfelt, and Kate Waugh closed the T100 season as overall winner ahead of teammate Julie Derron, with Jelle Geens taking third in the men’s overall standings.
On the tennis court, the brand’s momentum extended to Grand Slam and ATP success. Iga Świątek captured her first Wimbledon title, Ben Shelton lifted his first ATP 1000 trophy in Toronto, and rising talents Joao Fonseca and Flavio Cobolli not only earned their maiden ATP titles but each went on to claim a second trophy in the same season.
A growing global performance brand
In junior tennis, Henry Bernet became the first Swiss tennis player on On’s roster and delivered the brand’s first junior Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, underlining On’s investment in the next generation. All of this success builds on the company’s roots in the Swiss Alps, where On launched in 2010 with a mission to ignite the human spirit through movement.
Fifteen years after market debut, On now operates as a global sportswear player, offering premium performance footwear, apparel, and accessories across running, outdoor, training, all-day wear, and tennis in more than 80 countries. With technologies such as CloudTec® and LightSpray™ and a push into circular design, the brand’s record-breaking 2025 season positions it as one of the most-watched performance names in the world of sport.
