Rayssa Leal Wins 2025 SLS Brasília Takeover With 21.8 Points

Rayssa Leal claimed her 14th Street League Skateboarding victory at the 2025 SLS Brasília Takeover, earning 21.8 points and thrilling a home crowd with a standout performance in the Women’s Final.

Taking over the spotlight, Monster Energy congratulates team rider Rayssa Leal on capturing first place in the Women’s division at the 2025 SLS Brasília Takeover street skateboarding contest. Competing in an exciting new format from Street League Skateboarding (SLS), the 17-year-old phenom from Imperatriz, Brazil, delivered a masterclass in style before a roaring home crowd.

What is SLS?

Founded by pro skateboarder Rob Dyrdek in 2010, SLS is the world’s premier series for authentic street skateboarding, and Monster Energy has been a core sponsor from the start. With the addition of SLS Spot Takeover events in 2025, the series brings festival-style excitement to legendary skate spots, giving athletes the chance to earn ranking points toward the coveted SLS Super Crown World Championship.

SLS Brasília Takeover: The Event

For its second Spot Takeover, SLS selected Brazil’s capital city, Brasília, where California Skateparks constructed a custom street course at the iconic Esplanada dos Ministérios. The free festival welcomed global audiences for live concerts, fan activations, and a finals event streamed to fans worldwide.

Women’s Final: Rayssa Leal Delivers

Each of the seven women’s finalists attempted seven best tricks, with only the top three scores counting. All eyes were on Rayssa Leal, already a three-time SLS Super Crown World Champion. Her biggest contest moments included a kickflip frontside boardslide, a poised backside Smith grind on the Hubba, a frontside bluntslide on the rail, and sealing her win with a technical 360 kickflip down the big three-stair set, the highest-scoring trick of the day.

Her top scores totaled 21.8 points, notching her fourteenth SLS victory. Leal wrapped up her performance with a celebratory hurricane grind attempt, sending the home crowd into celebration.

“I don’t know what to say, I am super happy now. I’m with my family here, and this trophy is for my little brother. I’m super happy for this,” said Leal. “The Super Crown is going to be crazy. I'm super excited and a little nervous, I'm not going to lie, but it's going to be fun!”

Men’s Final: Giovanni Vianna and Filipe Mota Make Headlines

In a loaded men’s final, Giovanni Vianna of Santo André, Brazil, attacked the technical course with standout tricks including a Caballerial frontside bluntslide fakie on the rail, a frontside Half Cab backside Smith grind, a Caballerial nosegrind fakie on the Hubba, and a Caballerial backside tailslide fakie on the Hubba ledge. Despite leading throughout, Vianna finished second by just 0.1 points.

Filipe Mota, the 19-year-old from Patos de Minas, electrified the crowd with a heelflip backside tailslide on the Hubba ledge and a nollie bigspin backside tailslide fakie on the Hubba. Though he missed his third make, Mota took home fourth place with a total score of 17.9 points.
