Adidas doubles down on German basketball with a major new long-term partnership with the German Basketball Federation (DBB), becoming the official apparel and footwear partner for all 23 national teams across 5-on-5, 3×3, and youth programs starting in 2026. The deal, which also includes the national wheelchair basketball teams through Adidas’s role with the German Disabled Sports Federation (DBS), signals a deep, long-term commitment to the sport on and off the court.
A long-term deal across 23 national teams
From 2026, Adidas will outfit all DBB men’s and women’s national teams, all youth teams, and both 5-on-5 and 3×3 disciplines, positioning the Three Stripes as the visible performance partner across the entire German national program. Through its wider role as general outfitter of the DBS, the agreement also covers five national wheelchair basketball teams, bringing elite and para basketball together under one brand umbrella.
DBB President Ingo Weiss said that “The reigning world and European champions in the men’s game, the women’s team ahead of the World Cup in Berlin, and the Three Stripes – what an incredible combination! We are very excited to welcome adidas, a true global player, as our official outfitter. adidas stands for outstanding quality, innovation, expertise, and attractive style – exactly what our national teams represent and embody. This is a fantastic foundation for the start of our collaboration, which we will shape together in a dynamic and successful way.”
New home and away jerseys for a new era
To launch the partnership, Adidas and the DBB are unveiling new home and away jerseys that blend national identity with performance design. The home jersey is classic white with a black piped V-neck and armholes, the Three Stripes running down the sides in black, red and gold, and “Deutschland” lettering, the federal eagle, and the Adidas logo on the chest, finished with fine pinstripes inspired by the DFB anniversary shirt released in March 2025 for the 125th anniversary of the German Football Association.
The away jersey comes in anthracite, with a pattern of black dots that nods to the textured surface of a basketball, red piping on the V-neck and armholes, and gold Three Stripes along the sides. Both kits will debut during the men’s World Cup qualifying games against Croatia on February 26 (away) and March 1 (home) in Bonn, giving fans an early look at the next chapter of Germany’s on-court identity.
Star power from Berlin to the NBA and WNBA
The partnership is anchored by some of Germany’s biggest basketball names. Franz and Moritz Wagner, along with Satou and Nyara Sabally, are highlighted as the most successful sibling duos in German basketball, representing the Three Stripes with the national teams and in the NBA and WNBA. They are joined by European champion Andreas Obst, 3×3 Olympic gold medalist Marie Reichert, and rising talents Emily Bessoir and Frieda Bühner as key brand ambassadors.
Editors’ notes confirm that Adidas Basketball officially signed Franz and Moritz Wagner to its global elite roster on December 15, 2025. Born and raised in Berlin, the brothers, both standouts for the Orlando Magic, played crucial roles in helping the German Men’s National Team capture its first-ever FIBA World Cup title in 2023, a milestone that reshaped Germany’s place on the global basketball map.
Adidas rides Germany’s basketball momentum
Marina Moguš, Managing Director of Adidas Central Europe, shared, “The men’s national team’s European Championship title in September electrified all of Germany. We’re carrying that exact energy into our partnership with the DBB. We are incredibly proud to now be part of this powerful basketball moment in Germany and, together with the DBB, we want to show that basketball is a culture that goes far beyond the game itself.”
The expanded presence in German basketball, including wheelchair programs, strengthens Adidas’ position in a key European market where the sport is booming. It also gives the brand a powerful storytelling platform around inclusivity, national pride, and the crossover between performance, culture, and style.
