Adidas and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team have unveiled the new Silver Arrows pack, a standout fanwear collection inspired by the legendary Mercedes-Benz W196, commemorating the 70th anniversary of its World Championship-winning season.

Adidas and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team have unveiled the new Silver Arrows pack, a standout fanwear collection inspired by the legendary Mercedes-Benz W196, commemorating the 70th anniversary of its World Championship-winning season. The launch comes just in time for the team’s home race at Silverstone Circuit, offering fans a unique way to showcase their support both at the circuit and beyond.

A Tribute to Racing Legends

Taking cues from the iconic Mercedes-Benz W196 famously driven by Juan Manuel Fangio and Sir Stirling Moss, the collection features striking grey and silver tones that evoke the car’s historic livery. The adidas design team delved deep into the archives to pay homage to Mercedes’ rich Grand Prix heritage, ensuring each piece resonates with the spirit of motorsport excellence.

Design Details Rooted in History

Key items in the collection, including hoodies, fleeces, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and caps, are adorned with silver chalice detailing and the adidas logo. A special nod to the W196’s legacy is found in the hoodie, which is lined with the same tartan pattern that once graced the car’s seats, an element that “personifies the premium nature of a car ahead of its time”.

The number 25 iconography, styled after the numerals on the original W196, appears throughout the range, symbolically connecting today’s team with the champions of 70 years ago. The collection also includes loungewear, trousers, shorts, and accessories, all crafted to honor the unique history of one of Formula 1’s most storied teams.

Celebrating Fans at Silverstone and Beyond

Michael Batz, Motorsport Category GM at adidas, highlighted the significance of the launch:

“Silverstone is an iconic circuit on the calendar which has seen some of the sport’s most thrilling races, making it the perfect stage to launch a collection inspired by the legendary Mercedes-Benz W196. Our aim ahead of the home race is to honor the legacy of a team that has thrived at the highest level of motorsport and to give fans a way to celebrate that legacy too.”

The adidas x Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Silver Arrows collection is available for purchase from June 23, 2025 at adidas.com/motorsport and will be in selected adidas retailers worldwide from 25 June 2025.
