In honor of Black History Month, we celebrate Vontélle, a groundbreaking luxury eyewear brand that is redefining the world of fashion and functionality. Founded by Tracy Vontélle Green and Nancey Flowers-Harris, two visionary women of color, Vontélle celebrates culture, inclusivity, and the power of representation. Vontélle was born out of a personal need. Tracy and Nancey, both women of color, struggled to find eyewear that reflected their unique cultural heritage and fit their facial features comfortably. Determined to fill this gap, they created Vontélle, a brand that combines bold, vibrant designs with thoughtful functionality. Each frame is crafted with wider bridges, longer temples, and larger lenses to ensure a perfect fit for diverse facial structures, making luxury eyewear accessible and empowering for everyone.

Vontélle’s collections are a celebration of culture and creativity. Drawing inspiration from African, Caribbean, and Latin prints and textiles, the brand offers a stunning array of designs that are as unique as the individuals who wear them. From bold, statement-making patterns to sleek, sophisticated styles, Vontélle’s frames are designed to turn heads and spark conversations. But Vontélle isn't just fashion-forward—it’s functional, too. All frames can be customized with prescription lenses, including readers, single vision, and progressives. Additional features like blue light blockers and polarized lenses make Vontélle eyewear a practical choice for everyday wear, whether you’re at work, at play, or simply enjoying life’s moments.

As the first Black women-owned and operated eyewear company to secure a licensing agreement with Nickelodeon, Vontélle has made history. Their collaboration with National Vision Inc. has brought a limited-edition collection to 900 America’s Best stores nationwide, making their culturally inspired designs accessible to an even wider audience. Tracy and Nancey’s groundbreaking achievements have not gone unnoticed. In 2024, they were honored on Forbes’ prestigious 50 Over 50 list, a testament to their innovation, leadership, and commitment to empowering others.

Tracy and Nancey have created a brand that empowers individuals to walk boldly in the world, embracing their unique beauty and heritage with every step. This Black History Month, we honor Vontélle and its founders for their contributions to fashion, entrepreneurship, and the empowerment of women of color. Their story is a reminder that when we embrace our roots and pursue our passions, we can create something truly extraordinary.
