FanDuel Sports Network just delivered its strongest season ever with explosive streaming growth that is reshaping how baseball fans follow their teams.
Massive Streaming Surge and Multi-Platform Growth
The 2025 MLB season saw more than 900,000 unique fans stream games via the FanDuel Sports Network app, representing a 70% surge over 2024 and yielding the most-streamed baseball season in the network’s history. In total, fans streamed over 2.8 billion minutes, with each game watched for an average of 92 minutes—nearly a full-length broadcast and up 101% in streamed minutes year over year. Per-game, unique streamers jumped 94%, highlighting baseball’s appeal among digital-first audiences.
On the linear TV side, seven out of nine MLB partner teams saw increased viewership, driving a 16% jump in household TV ratings—the largest annual lift for the FanDuel Sports Network’s MLB coverage in a decade. Standout teams included the Angels, Royals, and Marlins, each posting double-digit growth, while the Tigers delivered triple-digit gains.
Executive Perspective: Fandom Is Now Direct-to-Consumer
David Preschlack, CEO of Main Street Sports Group, said:
“This season’s results are a powerful validation of the scale and sustainability of what we’re creating, driving growth for clubs, delivering value for partners, and reshaping the local sports media business long term. We’re excited to carry this momentum into the NHL and NBA seasons this fall.”
Michael Schneider, COO, DTC, Main Street Sports Group, said:
“Our direct-to-consumer growth is the clearest signal yet of how fans want to connect with their teams. Several clubs exceeded our internal subscriber forecasts, and that rapid adoption gives us real momentum for the future. Add in triple-digit streaming gains for some clubs and nearly a billion and a half more minutes watched, and it’s clear the appetite for flexible access is only accelerating.”
