Kickers and Finisterre are taking two very different routes into collaboration culture this month, with one leaning into London street heritage and the other into cold water utility.
Kickers x A-Cold-Wall* rewrites a classic
Kickers has teamed up with A Cold Wall on a limited edition take on the Kick Hi, the 1975 jean boot that has been a UK staple for five decades. The collab keeps the familiar profile but pushes it into industrial territory with distressed, crackled leather uppers, suede panels that hide the lacing and heel, and exposed foam finished with a sheepskin lining. Two colourways, Bone and Onyx, are finished with a bespoke fleurette in Kickers red and ACW blue, with the palette repeated across tabs and outsole plugs to lock in the dual brand story. Pairs are available from both brands’ sites, priced at £150 and offered in unisex UK sizes 3 to 12.
Alex Roberts, head of Brand at Kickers, said, “For generations, the Kick Hi has been a feature of everyday life and consistently reinterpreted by those by those who have worn it. Collaborating with ACW has allowed us to continue this legacy by reimagining the silhouette through their industrial lens and experimental approach to design, injecting a fresh perspective into a timeless style.”
Finisterre x Xtratuf goes coastal technical
At the other end of the spectrum, Finisterre has partnered with Alaskan boot specialist Xtratuf on a unisex ADB (Ankle Deck Boot) rework aimed at cold water, coastal life. The Finisterre + Xtratuf ADB lands in UK sizes 3 to 12 and in two colourways, black and Woodsmoke, combining Xtratuf’s slip-resistant, injection-moulded construction with Finisterre’s British cold-water surf and workwear aesthetic. The result is a short, hard wearing boot built for docks, decks and wet city streets rather than for pure fashion mileage.
A Todd, head of Design at Finisterre, said about the partnership, “Sometimes you don’t have to look too far to find the perfect collaborator. In this instance, it was as simple as looking at our own feet. Accompanying us on our surf checks, beach cleans, rock-pooling adventures, and every sudden downpour, it was Xtratuf who felt like a natural partner for Finisterre.”

What these pairings signal
Taken together, the drops show two sides of the current footwear collaboration market: pushing heritage silhouettes into more engineered, post industrial territory, and elevating technical rubber boots through brand storytelling and design tweaks. Consumers sit in different lanes. Kickers x A Cold Wall reads as a limited edition streetwear artefact, while Finisterre x Xtratuf speaks to everyday function in rough conditions, but both rely on combining deep brand DNA rather than just swapping logos.
Mike Roundhouse, vice-president and general manager of Xtratuf, also said, “This collaboration… celebrates a shared respect for the ocean and those who work, play, and live by it. Merging heritage craftsmanship with forward-thinking sustainability, we are excited to be working alongside Finisterre, a brand we admire for its dedication to innovation and environmental responsibility.”
