Meet Kanako Mizumoto (Breaking Barriers)
Swiss brand On has announced the signing of Kanako Mizumoto from the Edion Women’s Track and Field Team.
This marks a historic first she is On’s first Asian female track and field athlete on its global roster.
Mizumoto’s selection for the Japanese team at the U20 World Championships solidified her status as a rising star. She achieved this with a string of standout performances.
A Track Record Built On Grit
Mizumoto distinguished herself early by placing third in the 1500m and fourth in the 3000m at Japan’s Inter-High School Championships.
While at Osaka Kunie Girls’ Academy High, her victory in the 3000m at the 2023 U20 Asian Championships and a strong showing at the National High School Ekiden turned heads on the national stage.
Transitioning to Edion, 2025 saw her achieve a personal best at the Japan Championships. She further improved at Los Angeles’ Sunset Tour. There, she finished the 5,000m in a blazing 15:06.98.
