Reebok, the iconic sports culture brand, and SOUTH2 WEST8, the Hokkaido-based outdoor label, have announced their latest collaboration: the Reebok x SOUTH2 WEST8 IPF Mule. This fresh silhouette merges technical performance with clean, minimalist design, offering a slip-on shoe that feels equally at home in remote outdoor settings and modern city streets.

The model will launch worldwide on July 18, 2025 in two distinctive colorways including, green and black at NEPENTHES and select global retailers starting at 10 a.m. ET, priced at $180.

A Collaboration Built on Shared Vision

Founded in 2003, SOUTH2 WEST8 draws from the rugged beauty of northern Japan and the traditional craft of tenkara fly fishing. This foundation has made the brand synonymous with outdoor functionality paired with refined aesthetics. Through previous partnerships with Reebok—including the Zig Kinetica II Edge and Zig Kinetica II Edge 2.5 from 2022—the two labels have demonstrated a knack for blending performance engineering with distinct style.

With their third project together, the creative chemistry is stronger than ever. Both brands value technical craftsmanship, but also understand the importance of pieces that transition seamlessly between environments.

IPF Mule: Built for Movement and Comfort

The IPF Mule represents a hybrid approach to footwear design, prioritizing ease of wear and functional durability.

SOUTH2 WEST8 said, “The IPF Mule is our take on reimagining a high-tech sneaker through the lens of outdoor utility. We wanted to create something that reflects both our brand’s outdoor heritage and a lifestyle approach that feels at home in urban spaces. Three collaborations in, the synergy between Reebok’s sport heritage and SOUTH2 WEST8’s design philosophy continues to evolve, and this design does exactly that.”

Slip-on comfort is elevated with premium materials, including a ripstop textile upper strengthened by leather overlays, while PrimaLoft insulation provides warmth and adaptability through shifting weather conditions.

A Story That Bridges Outdoor and Urban Life

From its earthy color palette to the campaign imagery, the IPF Mule project connects the worlds of outdoor exploration and urban living. This dual personality reflects the lifestyles of modern consumers, who often move fluidly between the city and nature.

SOUTH2 WEST8 added, “With this release, we wanted to showcase how our footwear can exist in more relaxed, lifestyle-driven environments. From the tonal palette to the campaign imagery, the story bridges the outdoor and urban experience, something core to both our identity and the collaboration with Reebok. We’re eager to share SOUTH2 WEST8’s unique vision and sensibility not only with our core fans but also with a broader audience.”
