Nike Launches Air Max Muse Ahead of Global SNKRS Drop

Nike has officially launched the Air Max Muse, a new women’s sneaker designed using computational design and advanced cushioning, ahead of its global release on SNKRS in early 2025.

Nike’s footwear team considered every aspect, size, shape, texture, and Air cushioning to forge a sneaker that confidently brings the Air Max franchise into a bold new era.

“This silhouette was designed to surprise women sneaker fans, capturing their attention and imagination with a new application of Air — something they’ve never seen before,” shares Can Eldem, Footwear Designer, Women’s Sportswear. “Our goal was to design an entirely new Air Max model focused on both expression and comfort, making the silhouette uniquely hers — sleek, beautiful and bold — while offering the kind of innovation and cushion that she expects from the Air Max franchise.”

Computational Design: Innovation at Its Core

Nike’s computational approach to the Air Max Muse resulted in a silhouette that’s both visually striking and engineered for real-life performance. The design filters, encompassing material geometry and Air unit integration, led to features never before seen in an Air Max model.

The Air Max lineage has always celebrated visibility and sensation underfoot. The Muse continues that tradition by focusing on both amplified comfort and standout looks:

• A sculptural, semi-gloss finish beautifully frames the signature Air technology in the heel, making it the focal point of the silhouette.

• A sophisticated, heightened arch creates a fashion-forward side profile while delivering supportive structure.

• The exaggerated proportions are designed to “surprise and delight” in every setting.

Built for Women: Style, Expression, and Versatility

Nike’s influences span both sport and street. The Air Max Muse was seen first on leading Nike athletes like Jordan Chiles and Qinwen Zheng, as well as the boundary-pushing stylist Veneda Carter, highlighting the shoe’s universal appeal.

• A molded, synthetic leather overlay grounds the design, creating a dynamic foundation that supports a range of future colorways.

• Contrasting textures, matte, gloss, and technical, offer unique tactile experiences, a hallmark of Nike’s material innovation.

• Every detail, from soft touchpoints to the artful upper finishes, is intentionally crafted for all-day adaptability and comfort.

A New Chapter in Color & Material Exploration

The inaugural silver metal colorway feels both futuristic and classic, a perfect fit for trailblazing sneaker fans. Nike has confirmed that a vibrant lineup of distinct colors and textures will roll out through 2025 (and beyond), giving women fresh, expressive options to match every mood, activity, or outfit.

“We wanted to explore how the finishes of the Air Max Muse could enhance the silhouette while also providing her a range of options to suit her evolving style and mood, beginning with our silver metal colorway,” notes Marya Chan, Materials Design Director, Nike Sportswear. “It was also important for the materials to surprise her, both in how they look and feel, creating a new, modern expression that can be styled in multiple ways to enhance her everyday look.”
